Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Company

OpenHands is building an open-source AI platform that helps engineering teams accelerate development, automate workflows, and bring AI-assisted coding into production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own technical success for accounts from proof-of-concept through production deployment
• Perform hands-on installation of OpenHands Enterprise on customer-managed infrastructure
• Build custom integrations including agent-identity, OAuth delegation, and connections to GitHub or Atlassian
• Develop agentic use cases such as CVE remediation, code review, and SDLC automation
• Run enablement activities including onboarding, office hours, demos, and workshops
• Debug across services, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and CI/CD
• Surface field patterns and gaps to inform Product and Engineering teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer or in a customer-embedded technical role
• Strong proficiency in a backend or systems language, preferably Python
• Hands-on experience deploying containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Helm
• Experience managing networking, certificates, and secrets management for on-prem installs
• Proven experience working directly with customers in high-stakes production environments
• Familiarity with modern developer workflows including CI/CD and Git-based collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with identity and access patterns (OAuth, OIDC, SSO)
• Experience with MCP, agent, or LLM tooling
• Background in field engineering, pre-sales, or developer relations
• Familiarity with AI developer tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
