Founding Engineering Manager (UAE)

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a Forward Deployed Engineering team based in the UAE (Dubai or Abu Dhabi).
• Hire, mentor and develop 3–10 engineers with client-facing capabilities.
• Define and own the technical roadmap for UAE-specific solutions, integrations and localisation (Arabic SMS, UI, data flows).
• Balance rapid delivery with sustainable architecture, code quality and technical debt management.
• Participate in enterprise client meetings, translate business needs into technical solutions and enable sales during deal cycles.
• Guide complex integrations with banks, FinTechs and regional partners; implement API-driven and event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate closely with global product and platform teams; align regional work with global standards.
• Measure and communicate business impact, onboarding speed, revenue-per-engineer and retention metrics.
• Travel regularly to client sites across the UAE and quarterly to global HQ; initial onboarding in Sydney.
