Freelance Linguist - Nepali

Responsibilities

• Perform translation, review, and quality assurance (QA) tasks for Nepali-Nepal content
• Copy-edit and conduct linguistic checks for accuracy, consistency, and style adherence
• Provide constructive feedback to translators and freelancers to improve quality
• Manage and maintain language assets including glossaries, style guides, and work instructions
• Respond to linguistic queries from translators and project managers
• Support onboarding, development, and training of new linguists and freelancers
• Participate in developing and improving review and quality processes
• Meet or exceed quality and productivity KPIs as defined for the role

Requirements

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in translation, review, or localization
• Native fluency in Nepali-Nepal and fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Proficiency with CAT tools (XTM, SDL Studio, Polyglot, Mate Cat, ATMS, fbCAT, etc.)
• Experience with query/issue management tools such as JIRA
• Strong attention to detail with excellent review and editing skills
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a virtual, global team
