French<>Kinyarwanda VRI/OPI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Apply specialized vocabulary for healthcare and medical contexts
• Facilitate communication between Limited French Proficient clients and service providers
• Maintain dress code compliance for video remote interpreting sessions
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and provide exceptional customer service

Requirements

• Fluent in French and native in Kinyarwanda
• 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge preferred
• High school diploma in native language
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Additional experience in legal interpretation settings
