French-Kirundi Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate French-Kirundi interpretation for OPI and VRI calls in healthcare and legal settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Apply industry-specific medical and legal terminology with precision
• Maintain professional conduct and dress code standards for video interpreting
• Take detailed notes and facilitate communication between limited French proficient clients and service providers
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and uphold interpreter code of conduct

Requirements

• Native fluency in Kirundi and professional fluency in French
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience with an established language services company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and demonstrated tolerance across cultures
• Strong listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Additional experience in legal interpretation settings
