Full-Stack Geospatial Data Engineer

About the Company

dClimate Labs is building EarthOS, an AI-powered climate and geospatial intelligence platform that turns satellite, environmental, and asset-level data into actionable insights for companies, investors, and insurers. Their CYCLOPS platform helps monitor land cover, vegetation health, and carbon stocks using satellite data and geospatial analytics.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end systems including satellite-image processing pipelines (STAC → xarray → Parquet/Zarr/IPFS) and microservices.
• Build product features such as dashboards in Next.js/React and geospatial APIs in Node/Python/FastAPI.
• Scale and harden infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), CI/CD, and orchestration via Prefect.
• Lead and mentor by establishing engineering best practices, running code reviews, and recruiting engineers.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Node.js.
• Experience with data infrastructure including Dask/DuckDB, S3, Prefect, Parquet, Arrow, Zarr, and Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF.
• GIS and remote-sensing expertise using Google Earth Engine, QGIS, Rasterio, GDAL, PROJ, xarray, GeoPandas, and STAC.
• Cloud and DevOps skills with Docker, IaC, and AWS compute services.
• Ability to reason about distributed systems and data-versioning at petabyte scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading small teams or owning large production systems.
• GPU accelerated image processing (cuDF, RAPIDS, TorchGeo).
• Machine Learning knowledge and MLOps (PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Experience with carbon/MRV methodologies or environmental/agricultural science.
