Full Stack Intern

Responsibilities

• Contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining backend APIs and services using Node.js, Express.js and TypeScript.
• Build and support microservices or API endpoints using FastAPI (Python) when required.
• Implement real-time features using WebSockets and Server-Sent Events (SSE) to deliver live client updates.
• Work with Redis for caching, session/state management, and efficient data retrieval.
• Assist in database interactions, build data flows, and optimize backend logic for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs and data visualizations (React Charts, React Query).
• Participate in code reviews, follow coding standards, and contribute to a large production codebase.
• Help monitor, debug, and test backend services to ensure reliability and high availability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of Node.js and Express.js fundamentals.
• Familiarity with TypeScript and type-safe backend development.
• Basic knowledge of Python and FastAPI.
• Understanding of WebSockets, SSE, and RESTful API design.
• Experience or exposure to Redis or similar caching systems.
• Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Eager to learn, communicate well, and work within a large codebase.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to large-scale backend projects or open-source repositories.
• Familiarity with scalable system design, microservices, and API optimization.
• Exposure to performance tuning, caching strategies, and message queues.
• Interest in data visualization and building real-time dashboards.
• Knowledge of web security best practices and authentication/authorization flows.
