Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate over-the-phone and video remote interpretation between Fuzhou and English speakers
  • Facilitate communication in healthcare and medical settings with strict adherence to interpreter standards
  • Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
  • Maintain professional conduct and comply with dress code requirements for video calls
  • Take detailed notes during calls and apply specialized medical terminology as needed
  • Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
  • Report to team leadership and maintain high customer service standards

Requirements

  • Native fluency in Fuzhou and fluent English proficiency
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
  • High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
  • Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dedicated wired high-speed internet (minimum 10 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload)
  • Windows 10 computer with dual core 2GHz processor and 8GB RAM minimum
  • USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone
  • Computer must operate in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
  • No Wi-Fi, Chromebook, Mac, tablets, cell phones, or wireless headsets permitted
