Job description

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve gameplay systems for projects 40 SOULS or SPIN
  • Develop core loops, progression, balance, economy, and combat mechanics
  • Turn creative ideas into clear, structured production materials
  • Support implementation to ensure design integrity during integration
  • Collaborate closely with programmers and tech artists to reach a playable state
  • Participate in demo iterations, including testing, polishing, and prioritization

Requirements

  • Proven ability to design gameplay systems and develop core loops
  • Experience working with game progression and balance
  • Ability to create structured production materials for development teams
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with technical disciplines

About the Company

8Bit Recruitment is working with a global team of approximately 60 specialists, including AA/AAA veterans and indie developers, currently building two Unreal Engine projects: 40 SOULS, a dark vehicular roguelike, and SPIN, a futuristic anti-gravity combat racer. We focus on building collective portfolio cases and publishing them alongside our contributors.
