Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of General Liability claims including Slip and Falls, Habitational, Risk Transfer, Construction, and New York Labor Law
• Provide prompt, high-quality service to policyholders and claimants
• Gather information to initiate claims and explain policy coverage
• Manage claim inventory, analyze coverage, and flag potential issues
• Establish and adjust initial reserves for potential exposures
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and standard operating procedures
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys
• Direct outside investigators and client counsel to resolve claims
• Contribute to claims guidelines and process improvements

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' General Liability claims experience
• Experience with complex, litigated third-party bodily injury and property damage claims
• Strong policy interpretation skills
• Active adjuster license (resident or DHS)
• Ability to obtain additional required licenses within 60 days
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Construction, Employers, or Liquor Liability/Dram Shop
• JD or professional insurance designations
