Job description

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs, briefings, and geospatial product demonstrations
  • Plan and coordinate stakeholder communications, including messaging, strategy, and material preparation
  • Ensure all training and outreach materials comply with Section 508 accessibility standards
  • Provide ongoing customer outreach, troubleshooting, and facilitation of geospatial information access
  • Support the execution of GMO-hosted events such as technical briefings, webinars, and user forums
  • Create, publish, and manage content on program-related websites and digital platforms
  • Supervise and provide leadership to junior outreach and training staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in GIS outreach, geospatial training, or stakeholder engagement
  • Experience delivering geospatial presentations or technical briefings to diverse audiences
  • Ability to communicate complex technical GIS issues to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and digital accessibility standards
  • Experience supporting federal or large-scale government projects
  • Proficiency with graphic design, video editing, or e-learning tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Storyline)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in GIS, Communications, or a related technical field
  • Experience working with DHS or homeland security-related programs
  • Familiarity with DHS Geospatial Information Infrastructure (GII) or HIFLD
  • Experience with web content management systems and HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge of federal records management and Section 508 tools like PAC or WAVE
