Global Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the global subject matter expert and technical authority for electrical systems within the Data Center portfolio
• Lead the design of complex electrical infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise data centers from concept through execution
• Provide expert guidance on MV/LV distribution, transformers, UPS architecture, protection, coordination, and grounding
• Develop and govern global electrical design standards, reference architectures, and quality frameworks
• Ensure all designs align with North American standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL) and applicable IEC/international standards
• Perform peer reviews and validation of electrical engineering deliverables to ensure technical rigor and compliance
• Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, performance, and reliability while maintaining system resilience
• Mentor electrical engineering teams globally to promote best practices and consistent design methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Significant exposure to mission-critical facilities and data center environments
• Deep expertise in MV/LV distribution systems, UPS architectures, and protection schemes
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards
• Proven ability to operate as a senior technical authority within a global, matrixed organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Ability to travel internationally as required
