Gujarati Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Gujarati and English in healthcare and legal settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter code of ethics
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure accuracy
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Gujarati and fluent English
• High school diploma
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical and legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cross-cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Dedicated wired internet: minimum 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• Windows 10 computer with Intel Core i5 or equivalent, 8GB RAM minimum
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• Computer must run in "High Performance" mode with power adapter plugged in
• No Chromebooks, Macs, tablets, or mobile devices permitted
