Hakha Chin Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hakha Chin and English in healthcare and medical settings
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient clients and English-speaking providers
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter standards of practice
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure information retention
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and maintain compliance with dress code for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hakha Chin and fluent English proficiency
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Awareness of legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Dedicated wired internet (10 Mbps down/3 Mbps up minimum), Windows 10+ computer with 8GB RAM, and USB wired headset
