Hakka Chinese Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hakka Chinese and English for healthcare and medical calls
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Apply professional standards of practice and interpreter code of conduct
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure accuracy
• Use industry-specific medical terminology appropriately
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and maintain compliance with video remote interpreting dress codes

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hakka Chinese and fluent English
• High school diploma in native language
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Windows 10 or higher with dual-core 2GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior)
• 8GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode
• Wired internet connection: 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload minimum (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• Single computer or laptop only (no tablets, phones, Chromebooks, or Macs)
