Hakka Chinese Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hakka Chinese and English for healthcare and legal calls
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional demeanor and adhere to interpreter code of conduct
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure accuracy
• Apply industry-specific terminology standards for medical and legal contexts
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and comply with dress code for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hakka Chinese and fluent English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical and/or legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows 10+ PC with dual-core 2GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or better)
• 8GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode
• Wired ethernet connection: 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload minimum
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone
• No Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mac, Chromebook, or mobile devices permitted
