Head of Design

Responsibilities

• Partner with founders, product, engineering, and leadership to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear, actionable product design direction
• Build early concepts and future-state prototypes to test ideas quickly and inform strategy
• Create and own overall design concepts for User Experience across web, mobile, agents, and wearables
• Design and ship high-quality products from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes and visuals
• Personally design and ship work across product UX/UI, prototypes, brand systems, and storytelling
• Establish lightweight frameworks, standards, and patterns to enable speed without bureaucracy
• Help define how design scales as companies mature from early builds to repeatable systems

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in product, UX, and front-end design
• Leadership experience in high-growth startups or scale-ups
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field
• Strong understanding of AI fundamentals and their application in product experiences
• Knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Expert proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and design tokens
• Deep understanding of responsive, mobile-first design
• Exceptional craft across UX, visual design, systems thinking, and storytelling

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to connect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
• Experience developing transformational innovation strategies and 'north star' representations
• Ability to frame strong rationales for design decisions to persuade executives
