Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the forecasting agent and financial analytics platform
• Develop MCPs and the agent orchestration layer
• Own technical architecture across the full stack and AI layer
• Drive end-to-end engineering delivery, including planning, estimation, and accountability
• Write production code daily for AI agents, MCP infrastructure, and forecasting systems
• Maintain code quality, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployments
• Lead hiring, run 1:1s, and support engineer growth
• Translate technical constraints into business language for founders and stakeholders
• Negotiate and control project scope

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience
• 2+ years as a Tech Lead or Head of Engineering at a startup (under 50 people)
• Proven experience shipping AI in production (LLM, RAG, agents, or MCP)
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React (NestJS knowledge is a plus)
• People leadership experience including hiring and performance feedback
• B2B SaaS experience, preferably in fintech or data-heavy domains
• C1 English proficiency and proactive communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial API integrations such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Stripe
• Domain expertise in FP&A (P&L, forecasting, budget vs. actuals)
• Experience with MCPs and agent orchestration
• Side projects or open source contributions built with AI tooling
