Head of Engineering (Trading)

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts focused on scaling and optimizing trading systems across multiple energy markets.
• Build and maintain integrations with exchanges and data providers.
• Develop new and improve existing proprietary trading technology for risk management, P&L tracking, and weather forecasting.
• Ensure seamless integration between trading operations and retail customer platforms (usage data, billing, tariff management).
• Collaborate with quants and traders to put trading strategies into production and build new tools.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a senior software engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager within trading.
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of trading system architecture, including market data ingestion, execution engines, pricing, and risk systems.
• History of setting technical vision and aligning engineering initiatives with broader business goals.
