Responsibilities

• Lead seismic source, mechanical handling and NHV back deck activities to support fleet performance
• Manage a department of support staff including mechanical, instrument, and field-based engineers
• Maintain source, mechanical handling and NHV back deck specifications and standards
• Develop and improve seismic source and mechanical handling technology with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Manage key suppliers of related technical services
• Monitor department spending, procurement, and prepare budgetary forecasts
• Monitor and implement programs to reduce mechanical and back deck related downtime
• Develop and maintain competency catalogues for technical department personnel
• Support HR in the selection and development of mechanical and instrument personnel
• Assist in responding to technical queries for tenders and marketing technical services to clients
• Perform frequent international travel and occasional vessel visits
• Participate in the Emergency Response team as required

Requirements

• Extensive experience with marine seismic survey methods, towing, handling, and sources
• Degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• BOSIET or FOET certification required for vessel visits
