Head of Tax

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and refine the company’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
• Provide strategic tax structuring advice and risk assessments for international seismic exploration projects and country-specific entry plans.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax matters, including corporate income tax, VAT, employment, mobile workforce taxation, and cross-border withholding tax.
• Implement and manage robust risk management and governance frameworks to mitigate tax exposure.
• Continuously drive process improvements and best practices within the tax function.
• Monitor tax developments, assess impacts on operations, and proactively engage with advisors and authorities to represent and safeguard company interests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, or Accounting (required)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a major accounting firm, large corporate tax departments, or relevant government tax office
• Proven experience with permanent establishment taxation, tax treaty application, and transfer pricing
• Extensive global offshore tax experience, preferably from the seismic or other offshore industries and cross-border operations
• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and research skills
• Highly proactive, commercially minded, and solutions-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Tax or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
