Health and Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations
• Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify hazards and suggest corrective actions
• Collaborate with teams to deliver safety training and orientation for new employees
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and suggesting preventive measures
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management
• Stay updated on regulations and industry trends, suggesting improvements to enhance safety culture
• Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on safe work practices
• Participate in incident response activities and emergency drills, offering guidance during emergencies
• Support with other compliance-focused documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 2-3 years of proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the service sector
• NEBOSH Certificate holder
• Experience with ISO and other audits
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for training and influencing employees
• Detail-oriented with a knack for maintaining accurate records
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or in a team
• Own valid UAE residence visa (required)
