Health Information Management Technician II

Responsibilities

• Process medical records and identify documentation deficiencies in accordance with Federal, State, and Hospital requirements
• Manage Release of Information (ROI) by interacting with providers, clinical staff, and the public to accommodate requests
• Perform deficiency analysis to ensure medical record content matches patient identification and complies with bylaws
• Prepare and submit birth certificate information to the Colorado State Department of Vital Statistics
• Manage HIM Department work queues including Outpatient, Inpatient, and Physician Orders
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain the integrity of medical records as legal evidence

Requirements

• Two years of Health Information Management Department experience
• Experience in scanning and/or release of information
• Experience in a customer service role working with the public

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Health Information Technology or Management
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Medical Billing or Coding Certificate
