Hmong Interpreter - OPI/VRI

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hmong and English speakers
• Facilitate communication in healthcare and other industries with professionalism
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific terminology
• Maintain compliance with interpreter code of conduct and dress code for video calls
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and deliver high-quality customer service

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hmong and professional fluency in English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International certifications in healthcare interpretation (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
• Awareness of legal terminology
• Prior experience with well-known interpretation companies
