Hmong Interpreter - Remote OPI/VRI

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hmong and English for healthcare and medical calls
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Follow interpreter code of conduct and maintain professional dress code for video sessions
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific medical terminology
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient patients and healthcare providers
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leader and maintain high standards of customer service

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hmong and fluent English proficiency
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI interpretation experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Healthcare certifications preferred (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

• Legal terminology awareness
• Additional professional certifications in healthcare interpretation
