Immigration Attorney

Responsibilities

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions
• Handle federal court litigation, focusing on Writs of Mandamus and Administrative Procedure Act (APA) lawsuits
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage case workload and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers
• Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
• Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments
• Present to law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law changes
• Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations
• Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
• Provide legal analysis to determine case benefits
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Immigration Law experience
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, and Citizenship applications
• Record of moving legal cases forward and managing a caseload
• High-caliber interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of immigration law experience with at least 1 year handling Mandamus and APA litigation
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience with Case Management Software
