Integration Engineer

Light is a Smart Financial Platform designed to replace legacy ERPs with modern, automated accounting and real-time reporting. We build software that allows global companies to manage financial flows at the speed of business, serving as the operating core for leading companies.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate integrations with multi-tenant banking APIs (e.g., J.P. Morgan, HSBC), e-invoicing networks, and tax platforms.
• Design abstractions to unify incompatible partner APIs into a coherent internal model.
• Handle complex banking connectivity including mTLS auth, OAuth flows, and ISO 20022/legacy MT formats.
• Design multi-tenant architectures to ensure data and credential isolation per legal entity.
• Implement global e-invoicing connectivity and compliance with country-specific mandates like Peppol.
• Ensure high reliability through idempotency, retries, and end-to-end reconciliation strategies.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of shipping production-grade software for real users.
• Experience building integrations against complex, external, and unpredictable third-party APIs.
• Hands-on experience with banking and payments APIs (corporate banking, treasury, or payments).
• Proficiency in backend development; comfortable working with Kotlin and React.
• Strong focus on data integrity and system correctness.
• Efficient use of AI tooling to enhance development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or high-stakes data integrity environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT, or open banking standards.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits, credits, and reconciliation.
• Experience with e-invoicing standards or national compliance regimes.
• Background in high-growth startup environments.
