Japanese-English Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Japanese-English over-the-phone interpretation to facilitate communication between speakers
• Answer calls in a professional manner following the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and transparency during conversations
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure information retention
• Utilize specific industry vocabulary, particularly within the healthcare and medical sectors
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue new professional certifications
• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader

Requirements

• Native or bilingual proficiency in both English and Japanese
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• High level of emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Excellent listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Reliable hardware: Noise-canceling wired USB headset
• Reliable connectivity: High-speed Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not permitted)

Preferred Qualifications

• Awareness of legal terminology
• International healthcare industry certifications (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
• High school diploma in your native language
