Job description

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
  • Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
  • Apply medical and healthcare terminology knowledge to facilitate clear communication
  • Provide the highest level of customer service during interpreting sessions
  • Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients
  • Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
  • Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and native in Karen
  • 1+ years of over-the-telephone interpretation experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Healthcare industry certifications preferred (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
  • High school diploma
  • High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures
  • Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
  • Dedicated wired internet connection (10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload minimum)
  • Windows 10 computer with dual-core 2 GHz processor, 8 GB RAM minimum
  • USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone
