Job description
Responsibilities
- Provide video remote interpreting (VRI) services for Korean-speaking patients and their families in medical settings
- Advocate for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients' access to healthcare services
- Provide intercultural mediation to assist providers in delivering culturally sensitive patient care
- Maintain a commitment to patient privacy, safety, and exceptional customer experience
Requirements
- 1+ years of medical interpreting experience or completion of a successful internship program
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Korean (native-level Korean fluency preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional level medical interpreting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CMI, CHI, CCHI, NBCMI, or an interpreting diploma
- Completion of a 40-hour medical interpreting course
- Experience working in medical or human services settings
- Short non-publication translation skills
