Kurdish Interpreter - OPI/VRI

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Kurdish-Sorani/Kurmanji and English in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and comply with dress code requirements for video calls
• Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific medical terminology
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients
• Complete internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and uphold standards of practice

Requirements

• Native fluency in Kurdish-Sorani or Kurmanji and fluent English
• 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• Wired internet connection with minimum 10 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds
• Windows 10 computer with dual core 2GHz processor and 8GB RAM minimum
• Wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)

Preferred Qualifications

• International healthcare certifications such as PICSI, ALTA, or HIPAA
• Additional experience in legal interpretation settings
