Lao OPI/VRI Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls and render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting
• Apply specialized healthcare and medical vocabulary during interpretation sessions
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients with accuracy and completeness
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Professional interpretation certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare and medical vocabulary
• High tolerance and accuracy under pressure with strong note-taking skills
• Dedicated wired internet connection with minimum 20 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds (Wi-Fi not permitted)
• Windows 10 or higher operating system with Intel Core i5 or superior processor
• Minimum 8GB RAM and computer operating in "High Performance" mode
• Noise-cancelling wired headset with built-in microphone (no wireless or Bluetooth devices permitted)
• Power adapter must remain plugged in during all interpreting sessions
