Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate Lao-English interpretation for OPI/VRI calls in healthcare and medical settings
  • Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
  • Maintain professional conduct and comply with interpreter code of ethics
  • Take detailed notes during calls and apply industry-specific medical terminology
  • Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient patients and healthcare providers
  • Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications
  • Report to team leaders and adhere to dress code requirements for video sessions

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in Lao and English
  • Professional interpretation certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare and medical terminology
  • Dedicated high-speed wired internet (20 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload minimum)
  • Windows 10+ computer with dual-core 2GHz processor and 8GB RAM
  • Noise-cancelling wired headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth)
  • Dedicated quiet home office space free from distractions
