Lead Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the data warehouse, pipelines, and transformation layer
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines from platform and third-party sources
• Partner with data scientists and analysts to deliver clean, well-documented datasets and optimize query performance
• Incrementally improve and modernize existing data systems
• Implement data quality monitoring, alerting, and documentation practices

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery (or comparable cloud warehouse), dbt, and orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow
• Strong SQL skills
• Fluency in Golang, Python, or another common Data Engineering language
• Experience improving or modernizing data systems iteratively
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience transitioning data infrastructure from an outsourced model to an in-house team
• Familiarity with data observability tools
• Experience supporting data science functions and ML feature pipelines
