Lead DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support for migrating production workloads from legacy hosted infrastructure to AWS
• Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, routing, DNS, firewall, and hybrid-networking issues
• Design, build, and troubleshoot production AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code
• Implement CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and deployment automation
• Design and implement AWS-based disaster recovery capabilities and operational runbooks
• Produce architecture documentation, migration plans, and dependency maps

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Deep hands-on experience with production AWS environments and migrations
• Strong networking expertise (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPNs, load balancers, VPC architecture)
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills
• Production experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes)
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Argo CD)
• Strong scripting ability in Python or Bash
• Ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar, high-stakes environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Fintech, payments, or highly regulated environments
• Experience migrating workloads out of Rackspace or similar managed hosting
• Hands-on experience with AWS disaster recovery and RTO/RPO objectives
• Familiarity with Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Cassandra
• Experience with GitOps workflows and tools like Atlantis or Terraform Cloud
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
