Lead DS CEL (Travel)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and oversee telecommunications rooms (MDF/IDF/CELs), including racks, bonding/grounding, electrical, and cooling
• Conduct site surveys documenting power, cooling, and room readiness
• Develop layout designs including rack plans, cable management, and equipment placement
• Manage GDIT, Agency, and Subcontractor teams performing room buildouts and installations
• Ensure compliance with UFC, TIA/EIA, I3A, and DOD telecommunications room standards
• Coordinate with base civil engineering for facility upgrades
• Support site installation of fiber, CAT6, WIFI, and CEL closet solutions
• Participate in design reviews and customer briefings as a Subject Matter Expert

Requirements

• BA/BS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
• 4-7 years of experience with telecommunications rooms, data center buildouts, or ISP infrastructure
• Experience managing cabling and rack installation teams
• Knowledge of grounding/bonding, power specs, and room environmental requirements
• Secret Security Clearance
• US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AFCENT, AFNET, or equivalent DOD telecom environments
• Experience designing or upgrading MDF/IDF spaces
• BICSI Technician, Installer 2, or RCDD certification
• Security+ CE certification
• FOA CFOT certification
