Lead Substation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of substations and balance of plant for large and HV substation projects
• Manage engineering activities including schedule development, design safety, risk management, and quality control
• Prepare concept and detail designs for power single line drawings, physical layouts, and equipment erection drawings
• Produce technical specifications and data sheets for major HV equipment
• Manage project Bills of Material (BOM) and Material Delivery Lists (MDL)
• Act as the single point of contact for technical issues for customers and project managers
• Support proposals and tenders for HVDC or substation projects by estimating man hours and equipment requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSEE strongly preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering
• Experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation applications including primary design
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel

Preferred Qualifications

• PE License or P.Eng License in the United States
• In-depth experience with North American standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC)
• Experience with GE GIS equipment
• Knowledge of HV/MV equipment such as reactors, capacitors, transformers, and breakers
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit
• Experience with EPC or EEP project execution
