Legal Counsel (Sport, Culture & Entertainment) - Part time / Flexible

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line, business-facing legal support across UAE and KSA operations.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements including sponsorships, partnership agreements, supplier/vendor contracts, MSAs, NDAs, MOUs, introducer agreements, and event contracts.
• Advise on sports and entertainment matters: rights acquisition and exploitation, team/club partnerships, esports arrangements, and naming rights.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across UAE and KSA regimes and relevant free zones (data protection, anti-bribery, competition, sanctions/AML screening).
• Support corporate and governance matters: corporate secretarial tasks, board materials, powers of attorney, joint ventures, restructurings, and coordination with external counsel.
• Assist HR on employment-related matters including employment and consultant agreements and secondments.
• Manage disputes and investigations: pre-litigation strategy, settlement agreements, regulatory inquiries, and instruct external counsel for litigation/arbitration.
• Develop playbooks, template suites, and clause libraries; provide training and embed compliance-by-design into deals and workflows.
• Engage senior leadership and operational teams; represent the agency in negotiations with rights holders, sponsors, government entities, and partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior sector experience in sports, entertainment, media, events, or cultural initiatives.
• Experience with sponsorship deals and large-scale event delivery contracts.
• Familiarity with free zone frameworks, regional regulators, and permitting processes.
• In-house and law firm background with cross-border deal experience.
• Strong commercial judgment, pragmatic risk allocation, and stakeholder influencing ability.
