Liability Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Investigate coverage, liability, and damages on casualty claim files involving complex issues and severe injuries
• Conduct recorded statements, consult with experts, and review medical records
• Evaluate liability and damages exposure for bodily injury and property damage
• Set and adjust reserves based on investigation findings
• Manage pre-suit and litigation claims with outside counsel, including mediations and depositions
• Identify and refer potential subrogation or fraud indicators
• Maintain accurate claim file documentation in compliance with regulations
• Own a caseload of claims from first notice of loss through resolution
• Utilize AI tools to support efficient claims handling

Requirements

• 1–2 years minimum experience adjusting liability property claims
• Experience with bodily injury and property damage
• Direct experience working with attorney-represented, litigated claims
• Working knowledge of multiple state insurance laws
• Active adjuster license(s) or ability to obtain one within a defined timeframe
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing deadlines
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Data-driven, analytical approach to evaluating liability
