Manager, Data Science (Product Analytics)

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately seven data scientists to provide actionable insights for product strategy and tactics
• Inform product decisions and assess the impact of development work through accurate quantitative data
• Manage and mentor team members in critical thinking, technical skills, and stakeholder partnership
• Improve experimentation, measurement best practices, and product health metrics
• Partner with Experiment Platform and Data Engineering teams to build accessible data products
• Collaborate with product managers and researchers to cultivate data-informed decision making

Requirements

• Deep experience with experimental design and statistics applied to large-scale user data
• Experience collaborating with product development teams in fast-paced environments
• Prior experience in people management
• Proficiency with large-scale data processing tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Presto, or Spark
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity
• Ability to work within UTC+1 to UTC-8 time zones and available for synchronous work between 14:00 and 22:00 UTC

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in ethical data management and privacy practices
• Experience with Superset, Growthbook, or other open-source data visualization tools
• Contributions to Wikimedia projects or other open-source initiatives
