Mandarin-English Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in a professional manner following the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during calls to ensure high-quality interpretation
• Utilize specific industry vocabulary, particularly within the healthcare and medical sectors
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue new professional certifications
• Communicate and report regularly to your team leader

Requirements

• Bilingual or native proficiency in both English and Mandarin
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• High school diploma
• Reliable hardware: Mac (MacOS 10.13+) or Windows 10+ with at least an i3 processor and 4GB RAM (8GB recommended)
• Stable Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not permitted) with at least 4Mbps upload/download speed
• Noise-canceling wired USB headset

Preferred Qualifications

• Awareness of legal terminology
• International healthcare industry certifications (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong listening, memory retention, and communication skills
