Mandarin Interpreter

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate over-the-phone and video remote interpretation between Mandarin and English
• Facilitate communication in healthcare settings using proper medical terminology
• Render all messages completely without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Take detailed notes during calls and maintain professional conduct per interpreter standards
• Complete internal training and pursue relevant professional certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code for video interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Mandarin and fluent English proficiency
• 1+ years of telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology; legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills

Preferred Qualifications

• International certifications in healthcare interpretation (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
