Medical Science Liaison

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with academic and community physicians
• Identify KOLs, stimulate investigator-initiated studies, and support through study completion and article publication
• Provide tailored presentations to external HCPs at the request of sales team members
• Support the medical affairs team in collecting real-world evidence supporting the clinical utility of Veracyte’s tests
• Create and implement strategies supporting product improvements in collaboration with medical affairs, R&D, and sales
• Critically review literature and build educational materials for external and internal stakeholders
• Serve as a primary scientific and clinical resource to marketing and sales teams
• Assist the managed care team in setting up applications for insurance coverage
• Provide conference coverage and prepare post-conference summaries for leadership

Requirements

• Terminal scientific or clinical degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or D.O.)
• At least 5 years of clinical or industry experience, preferably in oncology
• Deep understanding of the peer-review publication process
• Advanced understanding of the genetic basis for disease and modern genomic techniques
• Prior experience as an MSL supporting novel diagnostic assays is desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and situational awareness
• Familiarity with statistical methodologies
• Ability to travel at least 60% within the central United States
• Proximity to an airport hub
