Member of Technical Staff - AI Product Engineer

About the Company

Flox is building the next generation of software development lifecycle tooling. We help teams create secure software by construction—managing all software and its dependencies down to the smallest package, with SBOMs and provenance included.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features for the Flox platform using Rust, Python, and TypeScript
• Own the quality and reliability of features through testing, code reviews, and architectural decisions
• Use agentic coding tools as a default workflow to write production code
• Build and maintain AI development infrastructure including harnesses, context engineering, and evaluation frameworks
• Evaluate new agentic development tools and practices through experimentation
• Help engineers develop sophisticated, reliable AI-assisted workflows and document shared practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems
• Production experience with Rust, Python, and/or TypeScript
• Daily use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot as a primary workflow
• Experience building AI development infrastructure such as harnesses, agent skills, or evaluation frameworks
• Strong engineering fundamentals and architecture judgment
• Clear communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in developer tooling, CLI, or infrastructure engineering
• Familiarity with Nix, NixOS, or reproducible build systems
• Tech lead experience owning delivery and planning work
• Background in software supply chain tooling or package management
• Contributions to open-source AI development tooling
