Mortgage Loan Originator

Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts including realtors, builders, and professional contacts
• Manage residential mortgage loans from application to closing
• Complete Fannie Mae form 1003 and utilize LOMAS for loan transmission
• Collect applicant documentation and deliver loan packages within management timeframes
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines
• Communicate timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines
• Understanding of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures
• Familiarity with federal lending regulations governing real estate
• S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
• Strong organizational, communication, and basic sales skills
