National Consultant - Country Programme Evaluation

Responsibilities

• Review relevant documents including strategic notes, project documents, and monitoring reports to identify evaluation topics
• Contribute to the development of inclusive evaluation methodologies and data collection tools
• Support interviews, focus group discussions, and consultations by taking detailed notes
• Provide translation and interpretation support as necessary
• Capture results, challenges, gaps, and learning pertinent to the evaluation topic
• Provide inputs to preliminary findings and synthesis reports

Requirements

• Master's degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, political science, or related disciplines
• Minimum 7 years of experience in research, evaluations, or assessments with development organizations
• Demonstrated expertise in gender equality, women's rights, and women's economic empowerment
• Strong knowledge of national development policies and experience working in India
• Specific knowledge of Tamil Nadu and its development context
• Proficiency in English and ability to communicate in Tamil
• Ability to apply ethical evaluation standards and human rights principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with UN Women and/or the United Nations system
