Nepali Interpreter - VRI/OPI

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Take accurate notes during interpretation sessions
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient speakers and clients
• Apply industry-specific vocabulary for healthcare and medical contexts
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leaders and comply with dress code for video remote interpreting

Requirements

• Native fluency in Nepali and fluent English
• High school diploma in your native language
• High emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical or legal terminology preferred
• Healthcare industry certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows 10+ computer with dual core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior)
• 8 GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode
• Wired internet connection with minimum 10 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload (Wi-Fi not allowed)
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth or wireless)
• Power adapter plugged in, not operating on battery
• Chromebook and Mac not permitted
