Network Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review network designs to ensure best practices and resolve complex challenges
• Own GFiber backbone design, reliability, traffic engineering and capacity planning across IP and optical layers
• Drive observability strategy and telemetry pipelines including SNMP, gNMI, and IPFIX
• Plan and engineer metro and long-haul optical transport, wavelength planning, and DWDM modernization
• Set team priorities, technical direction, and long-term roadmaps
• Develop and communicate expectations for team members aligned with organizational goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure, networks, or distributed systems
• 3 years of technical people management experience
• ISP/carrier backbone experience with routing, switching, and capacity modeling
• Expertise in DWDM metro and long-haul networks, coherent optics, and ROADM architecture
• Software engineering skills in Go and/or Python for network automation
• Experience with modern network observability and streaming telemetry

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building end-to-end automation workflows and event-driven automation
• Familiarity with Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) principles and SLO/SLA management
• Experience with telemetry stacks like Prometheus or Grafana
• JNCIE-SP, CCIE Service Provider, or equivalent deep industry experience
