Job description

Responsibilities

  • Collect, review, and interpret family/medical histories, medical records, and test results
  • Coordinate genetic testing and communicate results to patients and referring providers
  • Develop genetic counseling plans including risk assessment, referrals, and education
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding testing and treatment options
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards as needed
  • Research and apply knowledge of trends in genetic disease research and treatment
  • Assist with triaging and scheduling genetic counseling referrals

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Genetic Counseling or equivalent degree allowing for ABGC certification
  • Certified Genetic Counselor (renewed every 5 years)
  • Working knowledge of English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Genetic Counselor
