Job description
Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and interpret family/medical histories, medical records, and test results
- Coordinate genetic testing and communicate results to patients and referring providers
- Develop genetic counseling plans including risk assessment, referrals, and education
- Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding testing and treatment options
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards as needed
- Research and apply knowledge of trends in genetic disease research and treatment
- Assist with triaging and scheduling genetic counseling referrals
Requirements
- Master of Science in Genetic Counseling or equivalent degree allowing for ABGC certification
- Certified Genetic Counselor (renewed every 5 years)
- Working knowledge of English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Genetic Counselor
