OPI/VRI Interpreter - Hakha Chin/Burmese

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate OPI/VRI interpretation between Hakha Chin/Burmese and English in healthcare and medical settings
• Render all messages completely and accurately without adding, omitting, or substituting content
• Maintain professional conduct and adhere to interpreter code of ethics during all calls
• Take detailed notes during calls to ensure precise information retention
• Facilitate clear communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and healthcare providers
• Participate in internal professional training and pursue relevant certifications
• Report to team leadership and comply with dress code requirements for video sessions

Requirements

• Native fluency in Hakha Chin/Burmese and fluent English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
• Strong listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
• 1+ years of OPI/VRI experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Healthcare certifications preferred (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows 10 or higher with dual core 2GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior)
• 8GB RAM minimum, operating in "High Performance" mode
• Wired internet connection: 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload minimum (Wi-Fi not permitted)
• USB wired noise-cancelling headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth/wireless)
• Laptop or desktop only—no tablets, phones, Chromebooks, or Macs permitted
